Balboa Island

This small but mighty island is a must-see when visiting Orange County! It sits in the Lower Newport Harbor and can be accessed by bridge or ferry. Newport Dunes is just a short walk or bike ride to the bridge. Balboa Island is filled with quaint shops, and one-of-a-kind restaurants and is home to the original frozen banana and Balboa Bar! You can continue on to the ferry walking past beautiful homes and yachts. Take a short ride on the ferry to the Balboa Peninsula and fun zone. From there you can walk over to the Balboa Pier to look at the Pacific Ocean.

Boardwalk

Running from the Balboa Peninsula to 36th street, the Newport Beach boardwalk is the perfect way to experience the heart of Orange County. Whether you prefer walking, running, biking or rollerblading, this path will take you past restaurants, shops, and upscale beachfront homes with an unmatched view of the Pacific. Stop at the pier to see the fishermen and take in the view of the shore.

Crystal Cove State Park

Enjoy miles of trails with beautiful views of the coastline. Crystal Cove is known for its rolling surf, wide sandy beach, and historic homes. Check out an array of coastal wildlife at the tide pools. Last but not least, include a meal at the Beachcomber Café. Remember to make an online reservation in advance.

Back Bay Loop

You can hop on the Back Bay loop steps from your campsite! This 10.5-mile trail is a great way to get outdoors and enjoy the Upper Newport Bay Nature Reserve. Rent bikes from the Market and go for a scenic ride. At the North end of the trial, you will find the Peter and Mary Muth Interpretive Center which features an array of interactive exhibits that make the Bay come alive.

Fashion Island

Located a quick 4-minute drive from Newport Dunes, this al fresco mall is the place to shop the top brands, and eat at 5-star restaurants, all while enjoying the warm weather and beautiful atmosphere Southern California has to offer. Fashion Island boasts a koi pond, movie theater, unique and name-brand stores, and top-tier restaurants.

Lido Marina Village

A recent addition to Newport Beach, Lido Marina Village has quickly become one of the leading destinations for locals and tourists alike. Situated along the Newport Beach Harbor, this collection of shops and restaurants has a more boutique and casual feel than its neighbor, Fashion Island. Main attractions include Nobu, Malibu Farm, Lido Bottle House, and Tress Apothecary + Salon.
