Helpful Information to Know Before you Arrive
Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort has welcomed campers in the heart of Newport Beach for over 60 years. With laid-back lux amenities, 350 campsites, and 27 cottages, it is no wonder families have been returning for generations to enjoy the fun and create lifelong memories. If you are planning your first visit to our RV resort, we’ve gathered some helpful things to know before your arrival.
Atmosphere
Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort is the perfect spot to relax, enjoy the Orange County weather, explore the Back Bay and experience the lux offerings of Newport Beach. We are a family-oriented RV resort with many activities, including planned events for kids and adults. During the winter season, we have RV camping groups come to visit as well. This means a lot of action, but also a lot of fun. It’s safe to say, there is something for everyone.
We have designated quiet hours from 10 pm – 8 am nightly. If you have any issues with noise during quiet hours, give our Security a call at (949) 999-3151.
For other questions about your stay, our friendly resort staff is available to answer any questions you may have at (949) 999-3100.
Campsites
Many of our campsites are half pavement, half dirt. You may want to bring a rug or mat to place outside your RV door. Newport Dunes has been welcoming campers for over 60 years. Our campground was built when RV and campers were much smaller, without today’s slide-outs. This means our sites may be narrower than what you are used to. Be sure to input your rig size when making a reservation so we can match your RV with the right-sized site. You can learn more about our site types here.
During your stay, please keep your site clean and dispose of all trash in the receptacles located in the back of the park along Bluff Drive.

Wifi
Newport Dunes supports and provides free Wi-Fi for basic web surfing and email for all guests. Wi-Fi signal may be intermittently affected by resort occupancy and obstacles such as trees, large RVs, and the surroundings. However, our Wi-Fi system is consistently maintained and upgraded to enhance our guests’ experiences. For the best Wi-Fi reception, we recommend that you bring your devices outdoors while enjoying our beautiful Orange County weather.
Things to Do
Within steps of your cottage or RV site, you will find a sandy beach to enjoy the calm waters of the bay. The Upper Newport Back Bay has an iconic pedestrian and bike path that surrounds the entire bay. Rent a kayak, pedal boat, or electric Duffy boat and get out on the water!
From Memorial Day through September, Newport Dunes has an Inflatable Water Park set up in the bay. It’s a fan favorite for adventurous kids and adults alike. Our updated pools and spas are open year-round. It is the perfect place to take a dip and catch some rays. Guests can rent a deluxe poolside cabana as their haven for the day.
We have many family-friendly activities such as movie nights, crafts, games, contests, and more. Check out the full activities calendar here.
Newport Beach has many world-renowned attractions, all within a short distance of the resort. Check out our “Things to do in Newport Beach” blog to get the scoop.
Things to Bring
Many campers bring stand-up paddle boards, kayaks, and bicycles to explore the bay with! You can also rent these through our Watersports or Market team. We have convenience items available in the Market such as ice, groceries, snacks, drinks, RV supplies, souvenirs, and more.
If you plan to ride a bike, bring some bike lights so other campers and drivers can see you at night.
Dogs enjoying RVing at Newport Dunes
We love our furry friends! Please keep your dog on a leash at all times, unless in our off-leash dog run. Dogs are not allowed on the beach, but are welcome on the promenade walk. Be sure to pick-up after Fido or else we will have unhappy campers! There is a 2 pet limit for each site. An affordable fee of $2 per day, $10 per week, or $30 per month will be charged per pet.
An important thing to know: we do not allow Pitbulls, Bully breeds/mix, Rottweiler breed/mix, Mastiffs or other dogs that management considers aggressive or uncontrollable. View our full pet policy here.
Parking
Each accommodation comes with one complimentary vehicle pass. Your vehicle must fit within the red line. Additional cars may park in the main lot for a fee. Please do not park in empty sites!
Extended Stay Guests
We have many extended stay guests year-round. We love our community that calls Newport Dunes their “second home”!
